LADY WHEEL is a free, modern, and secure website for generating random draws in a simple and fast way thanks to a fully customizable wheel of fortune.
Whether you are an individual, a teacher, an animator, or an event organizer, LADY WHEEL supports you for:
➜ make a decision,
➜ choose a theme,
➜ elect a person,
➜ form groups,
➜ animate evening games, Secret Santa or Giveaways.
To create a custom wheel of fortune and build your own random draw, go to the control panel located to the right of the wheel. At the top, you will find four large buttons that give you access to the different useful sections. Follow the tutorial below to learn how to use each section.
This section allows you to define the names you want to display on the wheel and their characteristics.
● Add an entry
Click on the add button, then enter the text you want to display on the wheel in the input field.
● Edit an entry
When you click on an entry's input field, a context menu appears below, allowing you to:
➜ change its position on the wheel by clicking the arrow_upward or arrow_downward buttons,
➜ adjust its weight by clicking the weight button,
➜ choose its background color by clicking the colors button,
➜ import and apply a background image using the image button.
● Delete an entry
Click the delete button.
This section allows you to customize each component of the wheel, namely:
1 the text (color/font/size/alignment/shadow),
2 the disk (image),
3 the axle (radius/color/image),
4 the arrow (color/image).
This section allows you to configure each step of the draw, namely:
➜ before spinning (title),
➜ during spinning (friction level),
➜ after spinning (popup, confetti).
You can get additional information about each option by hovering over the info icon.
This section allows you to track the progress of the draw in real time.
By default, all results are listed, but you can choose to display only the ranking of winners (based on the number of selections) by checking the RANK box.
Once your wheel of fortune is ready, all you have to do is spin it. To do this, slide the slider located below the wheel to the right and to the end of its container. You can also spin the wheel simply by clicking on it or by pressing the SHIFT and SPACE keys on your keyboard simultaneously.
The concept of randomness is one we take seriously. That’s why we use effective randomization methods, statistically validated, to ensure each draw is completely unpredictable. For transparency, below you’ll find a description of how we handle randomization for each wheel launch mode.
● SLIDE
Our slider offers a unique and realistic launch experience with sensations close to those you can feel with a physical random draw wheel. This is made possible by an algorithm that faithfully translates the slider's sliding speed into a propulsion force for the wheel, making the user truly in control of their draw.
However, such a mechanism inevitably introduces biases, particularly learning biases, and behaviors that can affect the reliability of the draw. To address this, we first set a minimum threshold for the slider's sliding speed: below this threshold, the wheel will not spin. Next, our algorithm dynamically modulates the friction level during the wheel’s rotation. This approach ensures both the fairness of the draw and a more natural spin experience.
● CLICK (or PRESS)
Our automated propulsion system is relatively simple: The wheel's final position is randomly targeted by the algorithm just before the spin. This approach artificially frames the drawing process to maximize its reliability. The duration of the rotation is then determined by the friction level you have previously configured.
N.B.: You have the option to shuffle the order of the names on the wheel by clicking the shuffle button before each draw. However, the statistical impact of this feature on your results is negligible because the base level of randomization is already sufficient to guarantee balanced draws. In fact, its role is mainly to reinforce the perception of fairness among participants.
